Hi! Welcome to “The Principal and Interest” blog. I’m Dave Sherman, and I am an elementary school principal in a suburb north of Chicago. I also am a Doctoral student at Loyola University Chicago.
I have been blogging for about seven years, and I write about school issues as well as other topics in which I am interested. I include both professional and personal “stuff” on this site.
I’m not a lawyer (and I don’t play one on TV), but I do feel the need to write some kind of disclaimer, so here it is:
The opinions, thoughts, and ideas expressed by me or anyone who may comment on this blog are those of the owner (that’s me) or the comment writer (maybe you?) and not of anyone associated with my school district.
How was that?

Hi! Wow, you don’t look like the principal I had when I was in elementary school! =) The principal at our local school beginning in the 1960s was a cross between a bulldog and drill sergeant, but when I saw him as I got older I found he was a nice and humorous man. I’ll be reading your blog and liked that BP sign!
